Food Supplement with Omega-6-fatty acids
The evening primrose contains polyunsaturated fatty acids which human beings need to get from their food. The oil of its seeds contains linoleic acid and gamma-linoleic acid. The body requires these polyunsaturated fatty acids when it is especially burdened, mainly as building blocks of the cell membranes. A positive effect is only achieved above 10 g of linoleic acid. It is the high content of gamma-linoleic acid what distinguishes the evening primrose oil in comparison with other commonly used edible fats.
