During childbirth the pregnant woman may experience reduced contractions. This happens especially when the contractions decrease due to a hormonal imbalance or exhaustion of the mother. Experienced therapists and midwives can gently stimulate the muscle tone with the help of essential oil mixtures.
As carrier oil it is recommended to use the neutral jojoba wax.
Essential oils of clove and cinnamon, as well as rosemary oil, have a strong circulation-promoting and warming effect.
Cinnamon essential oil in particular is known to stimulate contractions. This even applies to some warming non-alcoholic punches during the chilly season. This can be used to induce contractions in advanced pregnancy. In addition, both clove and cinnamon oil have a particularly pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effect. This is very desirable because the efforts during childbirth and the hormonal changes can overwhelm the immune system. This is especially true if the expulsion period is very long and the woman is very exhausted and hypothermic. The essential rosemary oil in particular counteracts this, because it warms and relieves pain due to better blood circulation.
Cedar oil is cell regenerating and with its woody fresh scent it dispels unpleasant body odors that easily arise during childbirth.
An additional drop of essential lemon oil has a refreshing, anxiety-relieving and concentrating effect, so that there is no slackening and resignation, but rather the forces are bundled.
Generally, a massage with this oil mixture is very beneficial for the woman giving birth, because through the touch of a massage, of course, in addition to the ingredients of the oil, the attention and warmth of the hands of the person giving the massage provide great mental and physical support. Anxious tensions can be released and exhaustion can be dispelled.
Apply two drops of the above-mentioned oil mixture to both the abdomen and the back. The mixture is also very suitable for foot massage, in order to mobilize the woman's strength via the reflex zones and the warming effect.
This essential oil mixture can even be generally used as a bath additive or used for a warm belly wrap, which relaxes and tones at the same time, because it promotes the blood circulation and thus, in addition to the psychological component, also helps to supply the belly and uterus muscles with new energy.
Essential oils should never be applied undiluted, always mix it with a carrier oil (carrier substance).
If possible, test the patient for tolerance by having him smell the oil!
